Ford Mirage M3/300

This Ford Mirage M3/300 was modified by me as the original Polistil with Ref.: E15 was a very crude representation of the real car.
The modifications included, replacing the black plastic of the headlights for a proper sill with headlights. Also replace all the plastic front bottom end by similar shape with epoxy and install bigger metal side air deflectors. Make the side air ducts for the entry to the side radiators as the original were simply big holes with no duct and finally replace the crude original wheels.
After the filing, polishing, painting and adding the decals, the final result is the Ford Mirage M3/300 s/n: 002/301 (made by John Wyer) that won the 1969 Imola 500 with #4 driven by J. Ickx with an average speed of 150.5 km/h, Grid=1st .

Ferrari 612 Can-Am

This Ferrari 612 Can-Am made by Mebetoys Ref. 6601 depicted here looks more like a toy than a 1/43 model.
This Ferrari 612 Can-Am went then through a process of getting it closer to the real thing that included: Filing the front opening as the lower lip was too thick, adding the struts from the wing down to the rear of the engine and still allowing the rear cowling to open and a new set of wheels. Now it is a decent 1/43 representation of the car s/n: 0866 that raced at Stardust-Las Vegas in 1968 #23 with Chris Amon, the car dnf, it lasted only one lap because the injectors clogged due to sand contamination.

It still opens the doors, the rear cowling and the front aerodynamic spoiler.

Fiat Abarth 2000 SP from a Fiat Abarth 3000 SP

This Fiat Abarth 3000 SP model made by Politoys with No. 594 was bought in pretty bad state but with possibility of creating a new model, an open rear Fiat Abarth 2000 SP, that does not exist in 1/43.

Location for the headlights had to be created and the open top in the rear had to be closed.

So, this is the final result, a fiat Abarth 2000 SP with an open rear end

Ferrari Sigma GP

This Ferrari Sigma GP model made by Mercury with Ref.:301 was bought in a poor condition but complete. The color did not represent the real car and because of the age the not painted areas had plenty of oxidation.
All paint was stripped then the metal was debured and polished to remove all oxids.
The final result was a model of the Ferrari Sigma GP as presented at 1969 F1 premiere presentation. Built on a chassis of a 1966 single-seater F1 Ferrari 312F1 s/n: 011 with a Ferrari engine - V12cyl DOHC 2989cc 400hp at 10500rpm Lucas Fuel Injection CR=11.8:1 5 speed gearbox.
In 1969 Pininfarina, in collaboration with the Revue Automobile, produced this Grand Prix prototype which included various new safety features. This represented an attempt to generate recommendations to reduce the number of fatalities in F1.
